Portable Fire Equipment

  • Portable fire equipment (extinguishers, blankets, hose reels, hydrants) is crucial as the first response in fire emergencies.
  • Regular testing and maintenance ensure the equipment’s readiness for emergency use, following the AS1851 standard.
  • Six-monthly testing is conducted and recorded in logbooks on-site.
  • Digital reports post-inspection confirm building compliance and highlight any rectifiable defects.

Fire Detection & Electrical Systems

  • Fire detection systems aim to promptly identify fires, triggering timely alerts for safe occupant evacuation during emergencies.
  • Electrical Systems, within fire safety, guide occupants during emergencies and provide effective evacuation routes within a building.
  • Detection systems include alarms, thermal, smoke, and flame detection; electrical systems involve exit lighting and circuit breakers also known as switchboards.
  • Testing and maintenance frequencies vary by the system, ranging from monthly to annually.

Means of Egress

  • Refers to safe and efficient evacuation from a building during a fire or other emergency.
  • Aspects of Egress include exit routes which specifies clear and defined pathways that are free from obstructions, exit doors, stairwells, and ramps.
  • Egress & Paths of Travel is required to be inspected quarterly based on the building occupancy permit requirements and National Construction Code.

Building Services (Commercial & Domestic)

  • Building Services consists of any repairs, installations or upgrades clients would like to make to their buildings.
  • This is not a fire safety related service however we do recommend any repairs or upgrades to take place to promote 100% safety.
  • At SafetyCom we specialize in plumbing, electrical and all other trade services that are required.

Fire Sprinklers & Pumps

  • Fire sprinklers, common in commercial buildings, combined with pumps create a robust fire protection system for effective fire detection and suppression.
  • Regular testing and maintenance, as mandated by the Australian Standard AS1851 , are essential to ensure the readiness of fire sprinklers and pumps during emergencies.
  • Testing frequencies, varying based on system components, range from monthly to 30-year intervals.

  • Encompassing a wide range of systems and components, building mechanical services utilize mechanical equipment to regulate indoor comfort.
  • Key components include Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems, along with plumbing systems, handling water supply, drainage, and sewage.
  • Regular maintenance of HVAC systems is crucial to ensure efficiency, reliability, safety, and compliance.
